Position Overview
The Sports Medicine Physician provides comprehensive musculoskeletal and sports‑related medical care, including evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of acute and chronic orthopedic conditions. Responsibilities include:
- Conduct thorough medical histories and physical examinations
- Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic tests
- Develop and implement treatment plans for sports‑related injuries and orthopedic conditions
- Provide patient education regarding injury prevention, rehabilitation, and return‑to‑activity guidelines
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary clinical teams to ensure coordinated, high‑quality care
- Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation in accordance with program standards
- Ensure compliance with all required certifications, licensure, and credentialing requirements
Qualifications
- Must meet the education requirements outlined for the position
- Must maintain required certifications, including Basic Life Support (BLS) and any additional required credentials
- Must have at least 3 years of full‑time clinical experience in Orthopedics or Sports Medicine within the last 5 years
- Must be board‑certified in one of the following specialties:
- Emergency Medicine
- Family Practice
- Internal Medicine
- Pediatrics
- Orthopedics
- Preventive Medicine
- Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
- Must have successfully completed a Sports Medicine fellowship of at least 1 year, or hold a Certificate of Added/Additional Qualification in Sports Medicine
- Must maintain a current, valid, unrestricted license to practice
